Architecture Design and Technology Program

Diablo Valley College's Architecture Design and Technology Program will provide you with an understanding of spatial composition, design theory, and production methods related to the field. This program is a great option if you are interested in a career in architecture, drafting, furniture or cabinet design, or architectural rendering and illustration.

Our Architecture Design and Technology Program offers:

  • an associate in science degree - architecture design
  • an associate in science degree - architecture technology
  • a certificate of achievement - architecture technology

You can learn more about the requirements for the degree, certificate, and apprenticeship in our catalog.

Meet with a counselor

We know that navigating degree requirements can be tricky. Once you have enrolled at DVC, you can schedule and appointment with a counselor to discuss which option is best for you.

Although some students are able to get an entry-level position after completing the program, most students transfer to a four-year university to gain a bachelor's degree in a similar program.

Entry-level career path options:

  • Architectural technician
  • Intern
  • Draftsman or designer
  • Furniture or cabinet designer
  • Architectural renderer and illustrator

For more information on possible career options, please visit the Career Center or schedule and appointment with a counselor. Please note that you cannot meet with a counselor or staff member until you are enrolled at DVC.

Diablo Valley College offers degree and certificate programs in a variety of subjects. For a complete listing, see certificates and degrees.
