Academic Support
Basic skills classes help
students build a strong foundation in math and English.
Courses such as Counseling 120 (Student Success) can assist students
in adjustment to the college environment and the productive pursuit of
educational objectives. Our
Resiliency and Student Success courses are based on the Learned Optimism
model and provide resources for personal and college success. Tutoring is available
campus-wide in almost every subject area.
A complete list of tutoring resources is available at the
One-Stop Center. DVC’s Learning
Center offers College Success workshops designed to enhance college
skills and an English tutoring program.
The Math Lab offers assistance in all levels of math. For those who have been
diagnosed with (or suspect they may have) learning disabilities, DVC offers
learning disability assessments, adaptive programs and support services
through Disability Support Services (DSS).
Students
can find out their learning style and make learning easier and more
productive by taking the Learning Styles Inventory. |
