National Hispanic-Latino Heritage Month was observed September 15 to October 15. During
this time we celebrated the histories, cultures and contributions of those with roots
from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
In celebration of Hispanic-Latino Heritage, the DVC Pleasant Hill campus hosted various

Fall 2017 Activities:
LGBTQ+ History Month is an annual recognition and celebration of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans+, and Queer
communities, history and contemporary movements.
Disability Awareness Month held annually to increase disability awareness, cultivate deeper understanding and
Native and Indigenous Heritage Month is acknowledged nationally and celebrates Native and Indigenous culture, as well
as increases understanding and awareness of Native and Indigenous communities.
