Heritage and Awareness Months

National Hispanic-Latino Heritage Month is observed annually around the country September 15th to October 15th. During this time we celebrate the histories, cultures and contributions of those with roots from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

In celebration of Hispanic-Latino Heritage, the DVC Pleasant Hill campus is hosting various free events and resources:

  • LGBTQ+ History Month is an annual recognition and celebration of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans+, and Queer communities, history and contemporary movements. 
  • Disability Awareness Month held annually to increase disability awareness, cultivate deeper understanding and foster inclusion.


  • Native and Indigenous Heritage Month is acknowledged nationally and celebrates Native and Indigenous culture, as well as increases understanding and awareness of Native and Indigenous communities.
